Lindsay Fothergill, B.A., CFP®

Lindsay graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours B.A. in 2006. She accepted an administrative position at Brittain Group Financial Services the same year. Lindsay pursued financial planning as a career and in 2012 became a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). Early in her career it became clear she would like to run her own practice someday. That became a reality in November 2019 Lindsay became the proud owner and President of Brittain Group Financial Services. Lindsay feels incredibly thankful for the mentorship, support and guidance from Katherine and Carolyn. Lindsay appreciates her admin team Jill, Kyla and Alex who play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of her business. Lindsay lives in Brantford with her husband, Jeff their children Benjamin and Cora and pup Sully!

Carolyn Whelan CFP®, EPC,

Carolyn started in the financial services industry in 1993 when she returned to work after 8 ½ years as an at-home Mom to her sons, Ryan and Shane. What began as a part-time file clerk position with Jeff Brittain Insurance Brokers Ltd., and Wealthwatch Inc., quickly became a career. She learned the business from the ground up, working as an administrator, sales and marketing assistant while obtaining her licensing to become a financial advisor. Carolyn received her CFP designation in 2002 and her EPC designation in 2006. She feels fortunate to have been mentored along the way by several highly-respected advisors, including her good friend and colleague, Katherine Williams. Carolyn loves helping people and is happy to be part of such a rewarding profession.

Katherine Williams CFP®, EPC

Katherine joined the financial services industry in 1978. Initially working with a chartered bank and then a trust company prior to joining Jeff Brittain Insurance Brokers Ltd in 1985. Katherine earned her CFP designation in 2002 and EPC designation in 2006.

She remained an employee of Jeff Brittain Insurance Brokers Ltd until 2004, left to manage and carry on the business after the unexpected death of her predecessor Jeff Brittain in 2002. Katherine was the owner and President of Brittain Group Financial Services Inc from 2004 to November 2019 when she passed the torch to Lindsay. Katherine will continue to be an intricate part of the business for years to come. She is happily married to Brad with two adult children and an ever expanding family. She enjoys walking, cycling, continuing education, reading, cooking and all time shared with her family and friends.

Jillian Breuls

CLIent sales assistant

Jillian a graduate of Fanshawe College joined our team in 2013 as an administrative assistant. She completed her Investment Funds in Canada Course for mutual funds in 2014 and completed a FPSC-approved core curriculum program in financial planning. With her enthusiasm and previous customer service experience Jillian quickly became an integral part of our team. Jillian lives in Port Dover with her husband Matt their children Connor and Camilla.

Kyla Barber

Administrative Assistant

Kyla, a graduate of Mohawk College, joined our team in 2019 as an administrative assistant. She brings with her an extensive background in customer service from the retail banking environment. She is one of the friendly voices that will greet you when you call Brittain Group Financial Services. Kyla received her Registered Deposit Broker License in 2021 and will continue to work towards her Mutual Fund and Life Licenses. Kyla lives in Brantford with her daughter Skylar, and many fur babies.

Alex De Marco

RECEPTIONIST

Alex is a graduate from Laurentian University with a Bachelors Degree in Science. After spending time working in different fields, she joined Brittain Group Financial Services as a receptionist in August of 2022. She has worked as a customer service representative in a variety of settings. Alex successfully completed the Canadian Deposits course in February of 2024. She is excited and eager to continue to learn to better serve you as a part of the team here at Brittain Group. Alex lives in Cambridge and enjoys spending time with her menagerie of pets and being outside.
